Lisa Loeb's reality show!
Posted by: admin on Sunday, October 23, 2005 - 06:26 PM
General news Ok it is official now Lisa will have a reality show that airs on E!

it is said to be going to air after the golden globe preshow next year.

Although they have not announced what the show will be about, I think it is likely the "Landing Lisa" idea that was floating around for VH1 (I don't know if I could take a show of other men hitting on Lisa :( ). We will have to wait and see.

Note: Thanks to frontrowbaba for breaking this wonderful story :)

General news DAY 1

Lisa Loeb :: B.R. Cohn Winery
Lisa Loeb was the first one to take the stage with her wholesome voice and guitar in hand. During "I Do," she warmed up the crowd by cracking jokes with social commentary. Without a doubt, Lisa created a peaceful yet fun tone for this Valley of the Moon weekend.

Info on Lisa's upcomming spot on DIY!

General news Loeb Lover exclusive
Knit Bits

Power returned and we headed towards our next location, Lisa Loeb's house. It started off slowly while Lisa got into hair and make-up, but I entertained myself by fawning over her beautiful guitars and brand new, pink refridgerator. After warming up to the 25 people who had invaded her home, Lisa was very sweet. She did one Knit Bit by herself, one with me looming in the background checking out her latest cd and another one with me, that I wrote on the fly while we were there. Good times

Lisa's Former Manager Rob Gordon speaks about Lisa
Posted by: Lightning on Sunday, October 09, 2005 - 04:13 PM
General news He marks managing Lisa as one of his highlights and him not getting Liz and Lisa signed as one of the pitfalls.

Not sure but he kind of alludes to Lisa maybe being High Maintenance / needing some handholding? Perhaps he was referring to someone else judge for yourself and read the bit on Lisa below.

A&R'ing (what I would call making) and marketing Mother's Milk for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Operation: Mindcrime and Empire for Queensryche; The quick success of What Are Records? In 1992-1994 which included selling approximately 500,000 albums by the Samples, managing Lisa Loeb while "Stay" went number one, and being part of an unprecedented situation (an artist with no record or publishing deal hitting number one on the top 100); Moving to Colorado and bringing most of our staff with us from the New York area; and working with many artists I respect.

Career disappointment(s)
Not being permitted to sign some great artists at EMI. Some of the acts were (in no particular order, and probably missing a few good ones) They Might Be Giants, Michelle Shocked, R.E.M. (the deal that eventually went to WB), The Innocence Mission and The Ocean Blue (who we now work with), Ede (who became Collective Soul), Lisa Loeb (Liz & Lisa at the time), Fed LeBlanc/Cowboy Mouth, and believe it or not, Winger (the demos were great).

What was your managerial experience like?
I managed Lisa Loeb in 1994. I don't enjoy the hand holding that many artists expect (not always consciously). I enjoy the marketing part, the negotiating part, the interpersonal part, the musical part (remember, I am an A&R guy...), and in some relationships, the musical (Playing/Producing/engineering) part.

General news Did you miss it? Well, most of us did. Lisa strutted her stuff on the pink carpet to celebrate the new Tarina Tarantino Jewelry Store Opening in Hollywood, California yesterday (October 5th, 2005). Just because we weren't there in person doesn't mean we couldn't be there.

Head over to Lisa Loeb Online to check out the new pictures from this event.

General news

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Gary set up a myspace.com page for me, and I've been visiting there a little bit- you guys should check it out. It's really easy for me to post photos, so sometimes I post a pic here or there and answer e-mails.
I'm here too! I noticed that the Shania Twain cover was posted on this site. Let me explain- I did a cover of Ozzy Ozbourne's song "Goodbye to Romance" with Dweezil a few years ago, which was totally cool- I played with other top studio musicians, and did a song that I wouldn't normally record. When the same company called to see if I'd do a cover of Shania Twain, at first I said no- I think she's got a great voice and she's very cute and pretty (not to sound like a 12 year-old girl), but it's not really my style, and I don't really even understand the songs- except that one ballad she did... The song structure is strange, there's always strange talking breaks in the songs- I just don't get them. Then I decided, okay, now I have to do the song cover- it's just so strange all the way around, and I'll have fun, and hang out in the studio with my musician friends, including Jeff "skunk" Baxter, of Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan fame. What's cooler than that? He told stories of playing in Greenwich Village in the 60's and Jimi Hendrix, and even showed me how to hold a gun... He's an honorary member of the police force..

Note: Tea is the new webmaster over at Lisa Loeb.com in case you were wondering
